The Canadian Criminal Justice Association and the Criminal Justice Association of Ontario, in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, are delivering a three-day criminal justice conference entitled Canadian Youth and Justice: Advancing Ideas, Evidence and Innovation, Congress 2017.
Congress 2017 will be held at the Toronto Sheraton Centre from Wednesday, October 25 to Friday, October 27, 2017.
A key objective of the conference is to provide effective opportunities for congress attendees to explore national, provincial, and municipal perspectives on youth and youth justice systems, practices and supports. Provincial practices, innovations in prevention, research and trends will be highlighted, providing a national perspective on youth justice. Canadian provinces and territories will feature their successful and unique practices, programs and initiatives for congress attendees.
Showcase topics include: Indigenous-specific issues, addictions, child welfare cross-over youth, employment, sex trafficking, gang involvement, homelessness, LGBTQ youth and mental health. Justice topics will include sentencing, custody, community programming, diversion and prevention.
