Lutherwood is a not-for-profit, health and social service organization located in the Region of Waterloo, Ontario. We are committed to supporting people of all backgrounds and beliefs to build and sustain better and more hopeful futures. Annually we reach out ot approximately 16, 000 individuals and their families through our Mental Health, Employment and Senior Services.
Our Mental Health Department provides a range of services to assist children and families. We provide residential treatment and assessment, family crisis and prevention counselling, community and school-based interventions, a youth shelter and housing support services.
Lutherwood is an accredited member of Children's Mental Health Ontario. A continuum of Youth Justice Services operates under Lutherwood's Mental Health Department: Parklands Program is a 10 bed open detention/open custody treatment program; Youth Contact is a community/home based program that provides 3-5 month services to high risk youth on probation in K-W, Cambridge and Guelph/Wellington County; and the ISSP is being piloted in the K-W/Cambridge Area. We also complete Psychologcial and Psyhciatric Assessments(Sec. 34)for the Youth Court.
Our Employment Services Department is a leader in the field of employment and self-employment programming. We offer a broad range of programs designed to help people find and maintain jobs or start small businesses. We also provide customized outplacement and adjustment services to help both employers and workers manage the difficult process of workplace downsizing.
Our Senior Services provide a continuum of services to the aging population through independent and supported living resources. Luther Village on the Park is a retirement community for active seniors, 55 years and older, who desire an adult community with an exceptional array of services to enhance their quality of life. Our Sunshine Centre provides a little extra help with daily living activities. The centre creates a secure comfortable environment that maximizes independence, and provides with choices that fit the senior lifestyle. | | | Related: | Parklands
