(Development through Adventure, Responsibility and Education) open custody therapeutic adventure program on behalf of the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Project D.A.R.E. was developed and operated by the Government of Ontario in 1971 and has operated continously since that time. In 2000, Project D.A.R.E. was transferred to Wendigo Lake Expeditions (WLE) under a service contract. WLE also operates a 9-bed CFSA licensed and per diem regulated wilderness therapy program for youth-at-risk. WLE also delivers a variety of customized special programs for high schools, colleges, universities, group homes and agencies.
